Intro to Indirect Lighting

15

Well, once again I have stayed up really late.  Last night I didn’t even go to sleep.  I stayed up, recorded a video tutorial, got it uploading, and then went to church in the morning.  I nodded out a few times during the sermon, and when I got home and had eaten my lunch, I took a LOOOONG nap. :)   Now I’m doing it again – except this time I plan on going to sleep eventually.

Anyway, enough with my fake-insomnia.  Time for my first and second video tutorials for Blender 2.5 Alpha 2! W00t! I recorded another tutorial tonight and so here it is!

Here is the second tutorial first. I made this video to streamline the concept being taught.

And my very first video tutorial! I made this in hopes of enlightening my viewers on the use of indirect lighting, but ended up teaching how to setup a whole scene with mesh lights and a simple node setup. Anyhow, it’s good too, so enjoy!

God bless and have wonderful sleep! I mean, a wonderful day!

I have my music theory homework done, but I really need to practice my voice. I am so unprepared for my lesson this Wednesday – oh wait, I may go to Cleveland over that time! Sweet! Anyhow, as you can tell, I’m quite zany at this hour of the night and I believe it’s time I took a bow and chortled my way to sleep.

And my result!

Some Friendly Help

4

I often find myself stumped by the simplest of things.  But luckily, I have friends. :)

The most recent example of a friend pulling me up out of the ditch of reckless frustration is this: I’ve been working on a project for Kurv Studios, but I couldn’t figure out how to UV map an image onto my character’s shoe.  Well, David Ward begin_of_the_skype_highlighting     end_of_the_skype_highlighting came to my rescue by recording a little video tutorial for me, showing me how to add a decal to my mesh with UV mapping in Blender 2.51.

So here it is:

So I’d like to pass on a big “Thanks!” to David Ward for helping me out again.  My pre-visualization project is almost ready to be recorded into video tutorials, so you’ll be hearing more about it in the days to come!

And my result!

And my result!

As for daily news? I practiced driving for about an hour, and I was fitted for a tux for my brother’s upcoming wedding this March. And oh, that reminds me – I need to practice my duet for the ceremony!

Toodles!
