My sister and I decided to engage in a 8-hour long writing challenge, where we both had to write a complete short story in a tiny 480 minutes. But lo and behold, after starting at 3pm and writing till 11pm, we finished our stories and read them to our brother and his sister-in-law.
I’m quite proud of my 14-page, 8,129-word story, which chronicles the disaster the befalls of a peaceful Kingdom that’s “somewhere in the far reaches of the earth, but closer than you could imagine” filled with “mostly-happy people,” and the great Quest of Valor to solve “the mystery of the broken sky” and in doing so win the hand of the beautiful Princess.
I”m off to take my driving test for the second time. Yes, I failed on my first go-around. During the parallel parking portion of the test, which the administrator had me do right away, I backed up into the rear barrel, scraping against the plastic-orange obstacle and getting an instant fail. Oh well, better luck next time, right?
So I get three tries at passing the driving test. A no brainer, right? “You’ll do fine!” all my friends say. “It’s not that hard.” Then after I fail, they reveal that “Actually, the police officer may fail you because he broke a toenail that morning.” Seriously, what a great thing to know. Thanks.
Anyhow, tomorrow mornings the day for my second (and last,) shot at this endeavor, unless I want to renew my driving permit that expires on the 25 of May, which is Tuesday. So even though I am supposed to get three tries, I’ll only have two, due to the timing of things, having a to wait a week after each failure and all.
So toodles, I need some sleep. I’m uploading a flaming Suzanne mesh right now, off of the excellent fire tutorial by Miika. Check it out!
I sent in my messed-up .blend file to this teacher, and viola! I get an excellent, quick reply that fixes my issue. Thanks!
What I was doing wrong was resizing the domain cube in edit mode, causing the texture space to stay the same size. This caused the volume texture to repeat across the texture space.
And since that’s fixed now, I’m onto the start of fire making, and soon I’ll be a happy-go-lucky CG pyromaniac and proud of it.
Cheers! Off to beddy-bye.
P.S. I’m working on some other Blender stuff, but it’s Top Secret, so you’ll have to wait till I draw away the cloak an reveal some awesome upcoming classes with Kurv Studios!
Well, once again I have stayed up really late. Last night I didn’t even go to sleep. I stayed up, recorded a video tutorial, got it uploading, and then went to church in the morning. I nodded out a few times during the sermon, and when I got home and had eaten my lunch, I took a LOOOONG nap. Now I’m doing it again – except this time I plan on going to sleep eventually.
Anyway, enough with my fake-insomnia. Time for my first and second video tutorials for Blender 2.5 Alpha 2! W00t! I recorded another tutorial tonight and so here it is!
Here is the second tutorial first. I made this video to streamline the concept being taught.
And my very first video tutorial! I made this in hopes of enlightening my viewers on the use of indirect lighting, but ended up teaching how to setup a whole scene with mesh lights and a simple node setup. Anyhow, it’s good too, so enjoy!
God bless and have wonderful sleep! I mean, a wonderful day!
I have my music theory homework done, but I really need to practice my voice. I am so unprepared for my lesson this Wednesday – oh wait, I may go to Cleveland over that time! Sweet! Anyhow, as you can tell, I’m quite zany at this hour of the night and I believe it’s time I took a bow and chortled my way to sleep.
